The Episodic Life

Great Escape Stage Company is delighted to again welcome Bare Backstage Productions (“Fifty Shades of Shakespeare”) and their newest offering: a new play by local playwright and actor R.J. Soule that tells a slightly enhanced and original autobiographical tale.  Book-ended by a prologue that introduces the characters and an epilogue that concludes the journey, the evening includes Episode one (OF IMITATION AND FLATTERY), which tells of Vincent’s days as a playwright in a small theatre; Episode two (IN THIS CIRCLE OF HELL), which tells of his falling from grace as a drug addict; Episode three (HOLY ELMER G), which tells of his redemption during his involvement with the church; and the final episode (SWIFTCURRENT BY DUSK), which deals with death, loss and moving on to salvation.  (This last episode was presented outside in the autumn of 2021 at the Marshall Band Shell as a “sneak preview” for local audiences.)
