Thank You for Being a Friend – A Golden Girls Parody Musical

Unfortunately, due to a variety of reasons, we needed to cancel our planned production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES for this September (although hopefully it’ll reappear next season!) Instead, we’ll be bringing you “Thank You for Being a Friend! – A Golden Girls Parody Musical” by Nick Brennan instead – same dates Sept 14-24.

“Thank You for Being a Friend! – A GOLDEN GIRLS PARODY MUSICAL” is a LIVE send-up of TV’s The Golden Girls that includes an original pop score, a 1980’s fashion show, and the greatest moments from the original sitcom.

Picture it! Miami Beach, where the beloved four ladies (Blanche, the sexy Southern Bell; Dorothy, the brainy New Yorker; Rose, the dimwitted Midwesterner; and Sophia, the wise cracking Italian) are sharing their peaceful golden years together…that is, until Guest Star, pop singer Ricky Martin moves next door. His loud, all night, salsa sessions are keeping the ladies from getting a good night’s sleep. What’s worse, they have to get up early and rehearse their act for the annual Shady Pines Retirement Home Talent Show! What ensues is a feud that can only end with one household taking home first place at the talent show.

“Thank You for Being a Friend! – A GOLDEN GIRLS PARODY MUSICAL” has played sold out runs at New York’s famous Laurie Beechman theater from 2012-2019. It has also toured to countless theaters throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
