Seven performers will re-create – with live sound effects – three classic Sherlock Holmes broadcasts from 1945, originally starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. The radio dramas to be re-created are Death of an Adventuress, Murder in the Casbah and A Scandal in Bohemia.
“These radio shows are entirely different than those that were re-created in our first Sherlock by Wireless in 2012, and we’re especially looking forward to Scandal, one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s greatest stories, which features the classic character of Irene Adler,” Lake said.
“We’re also excited because John Sherwood and Brooks Grantier have portrayed Holmes and Dr. Watson in many venues for 30 years – longer and more frequently than any other living performers worldwide,” Lake said. “They’ll return to our stage in those roles for this new show.”
