Vaudeville stars Lewis and Clark hate each other! Can they patch it up long enough to recreate their old act on a big TV special?

Save Your Seat!

Al Lewis and Willie Clark once had a successful vaudeville career as “The Sunshine Boys,” but over the years the animosity built up to the point where they don’t speak to each other. In his old age, Willie is persuaded to try to reunite with Al for a TV special. Things get off to a bad start – and get worse. Will these veterans performers ever patch things up?

“The playwright, Neil Simon, based his comedy on his own knowledge of some of America’s great old-time vaudeville performers, and his own insight into the human character,” said Randy Lake, Great Escape’s artistic director. “The result is a hilarious show, full of fun as well as great characters.”

Lake is spicing up the show with a curtain-raiser, “A Tickle of Burlesque,” an original series of sketches based on the old-style blackouts of vaudeville’s past.

“It’s going to be a bit racy and crazy,” Lake said. “We think our audiences are going to get a big kick out of it all.”
